Some years ago, while just going about my day as any other normal day, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “you’re about to enter into a ‘Job’ season.” I’m telling you, I came to a complete stop at that moment as I felt nothing but dread. Then, I thought, ‘surely, I misunderstood, and He didn’t really say what I thought I just heard…. nah, I misunderstood, I’m sure of it.’ Well, it wasn’t too long after that, that a prophetic minister who is quite known for his accurate words, sent me a text telling me that the Lord had told him I would soon be going through a “time of testing as Job did.” That was soooo NOT what I wanted to hear. NOPE! NADDAH! ZILCH! But, guess what? Yep, you guessed it, it happened. It was literally, the worst time of my life. And just as Job did, I began to question what I had done wrong, then I questioned the faithfulness of God. I also found myself saying and doing the same as what Job did and that would be questioning as to why if I had so diligently obeyed God in all that He asked me to do would He put all of what I was going through upon me. Just as Job had people who began to tell him that surely the reason, he was having to endure such hardships was because of unconfessed sin in his life, I too had the experience of being accused of the same.
So, when God told me I’d be walking through a Job season, He wasn’t joking – I walked through a Job season indeed, as have many of you.
Several years after I had my Job season, I then began to receive prophetic words wherever I’d go, from people who were telling me what an abundant restoration the Lord was about to reward me with. I have been told this for many years now, and yes, I have seen ‘some’ restoration but not in all areas of where I saw loss. Don’t get me wrong, I have been blessed by God and quite abundantly in many areas of my life, but there are still a few promises that so many prophetic people declared to me in regards to this restoration that I’ve still been waiting on.
On March 3, 2020 as I was going about my day as any other normal day, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “you and many others are about to receive your reward and restoration from the Job season you walked through.” As in the above scenario, I came to a complete stop but this time rather than the feeling of dread, I knew it was time and I felt nothing but total joy and awe and honor for my Father who is faithful to fulfill His promises to His people.
There’s so much I can share with you of what I learned during my Job season, and how in hindsight I can see the necessity of walking through what I did. Now, on the other side I can clearly see He was being a loving Father who was training me up during that time. But, all of that will be for another time, if the Lord leads me into it.
Please do not look upon the circumstances of our world right now and think it’s impossible for God to bring a double portion of restoration to you. Be assured, our Father in heaven IS the Creator of everything and there is absolutely NOTHING that is impossible to Him. He doesn’t need anything to work with other than our faith in Him and in His word. Simply believe and begin even in this moment to praise Him for what He’s already spoken into existence on your behalf.
Job 42:1-2 Then Job replied to the Lord: “I know that you can do all things, no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”
Job 42: 10 – 12(a) After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the Lord had brought on him, and each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring.
The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part.
