If our heart's desire is for our lives to glorify God we must first submit our thoughts to Him. It can be difficult for the natural mind to understand that submitting all who you are, even your thought process to someone else is good and healthy. If we were suggesting to surrender our thoughts to another human being then yes, that would be unhealthy but we're not referring to just merely another human, rather the One who created us; thought of us before the beginning of time and spoke us into existence. I'd say, THAT'S the One on whom we can trust with our entire being; yes even our most secretive thought processes.
The most abundant and fulfilling life we can have is when we are in submission to the Holy Spirit. Not because His desire is to be controlling but rather because His perfect will for us is an abundant life and He knows exactly every step we need to take in order to receive ALL that He has for us. Therefore, by aligning our thoughts with God's will it results in not only us shining forth His Spirit, but also living in His best for our lives.
Our thoughts are like our personal steering wheel in the direction our life takes. Whatever direction our thoughts point us in, our lives take the course thereof. There is not one thing that exists that did not first begin as a thought - whether good or bad. Negative thoughts do not produce positive actions nor will negative thoughts initiate good results into existence. Likewise, a negative perspective does not allow faith in God to arise that we may receive His best for our lives.
To walk in faith means that we believe with the heart and the mind that God has a good plan for us, even if it requires turning a not so good situation around into something good for us. Faith is not in operation without positive thoughts intact. One cannot believe for what cannot be first thought of.
So, in this world where negativity is all around us, how do we get the positive perspective we need to live life abundantly? First and foremost by; "bringing every thought into captivity into the obedience of Christ." (2 Cor 10:5b) That means we welcome the Holy Spirit to lead us in our thoughts and when we recognize negativity creeping in, subdue it and don't give it another moment to corrupt our thinking. Otherwise known as, 'stinkin' thinkin'! A daily dose of God's word is incredible for transforming negative thinking into positive everything!
Life is too short and precious to waste it on anything other than walking in God's victory and the very best that He has for each and every one of us. None are excluded by the way. He has an amazing & GOOD plan for everyone.
Trust God, believe for the best, make a point to find the positive in every situation and in every person, shine in His love, His light and live life abundantly!!!
"For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11 - The Amplified Bible)
